A timber frame goes better when the thinking happens early. Here is how we move from first call to finished frame.
Philosophy
Plan well before cutting wood.
The frame is the part everyone sees, but the important work starts earlier. We resolve the spans, joinery, finish, access, and raising sequence before the timbers reach the bench.
That keeps the site work cleaner and gives the builder, architect, and owner fewer surprises.
How We Work
From first conversation to final keystone.
Six deliberate movements carry a home from an idea at your kitchen table to a frame raised against the sky.
The work moves in a clear sequence: listening first, resolving the frame in detail, then cutting, raising, and finishing with the same care. Each phase has a visible handoff, so the project always feels grounded and legible.

Design & Engineering
Working alongside your architect, we resolve every joint and member in three dimensions - timber engineered to the millimeter before it is cut.

Selection
We hand-select each timber at the mill, reading grain and figure, matching species to span, light, and the life of the room it will hold.

Joinery
In our shop, mortise meets tenon. Joints are cut, draw-bored, and pegged by hand - fasteners the eye will never see and time cannot loosen.

The Raising
The frame is raised on site in a single choreographed sequence - the moment years of quiet work stand suddenly, permanently, in the light.

Finishing
Surfaces are hand-finished with natural oils that deepen with age. We hand over a home already beginning its long, graceful patina.

The Craft
Real joinery, cut in the shop.
We lay out the frame, cut the joints, test the fit, and finish the timber before it leaves New Richmond. By the time it reaches your site, the hard decisions have already been made.
